well, as you can see, the foreground is utter shit...but i really dunno how to do rocks and grass very well...
and i'm starting to hate it already so i'll chuck it up here and see if i can get some criticism, HA!
anyway, appreciate the clouds and the depth in the terrain.
minimal referancing...maybe like two or three quick looks in the photography/scenery gallery.
from scratch using my brrraaaaaaaand new Wacom Intuos3 9x12 Graphics tablet in Adobe Photoshop CS2
most of the day, possibly something like 6 hours.
i could do more...but i think i'll call it quits and start on something else.
:EDIT: i just had the thought, i've never really painted or drawn before...i mean, i've done a bit on paper and stuff but this is kinda my first scene. and of course i know photoshop, so that kinda helps. but i've never done anything even remotely like this.
i taught myself basically everything just now...mountains, clouds and all...
and its basically my first time with full colours in an a4 environment...anything i've done on paper was pencil...and mostly 2d...and i've never touched paints...
anyway, thought it was interesting
well done. in terms of 'critique' the only thing that comes to mind is that the texture of the grass covered rocks/ hills in the foreground isn't very strong. but whatever. i think this is a good beginning!

This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
